Can I play the game with a Viper 550 TNT PCI card?

I just read today's review in Games Domain and I waana get the game but...

I know this question has probably been asked before but I cannot find the answer. All I see mentioned is 3dfx info.

It supports all graphics cards but you will only get acceleration (and nicer graphics) on a 3DFX card.

Well, I'm totally bummed...

After hearing how awesome this game is (mentioned in the same class as the classic Elite), I really wanna play it.

Since the graphics aren't cutting edge with hardware acceleration, I cannot bring myself to play it without. Which brings to my question:

Will card support for any other card besides 3Dfx ever be released?

There's upcoming sequel Battlecruiser Millenium that will support other cards as well. I suggest you to try the demo of bc3000 v. 2.00 if you are in doubt if you should buy or not bc3000ad.

You can get a Voodoo 3 2000 AGP at Wal-Mart for about $70 (well...at least in Florida).

Would the gilde wrapper for the TNT2 allow 3d acceleration on that card? Has anyone tried it (I am thinking of upgrading my Banshee)?

No. BC3K v2.0x uses DOS Glide, not WIN Glide.
