3dfx Voodoo3 update not working in v.2.09

To 3000ad tech support:

This game will not load at all with the current drivers under 3dfx mode. The intro loads, but stops after the credits. I can run it in software mode

for the time being. I don't want to remove the new drivers because it's speeded up Quake III Arena on my PC. The

only game that won't load is Battlecruiser 3000 A.D. v. 2.0, updated to 2.09.

My PC:

Compaq Presario 5150 w/ AMD K6-2 350 Mhz

128 MB RAM

3dfx Voodoo3 2000 PCI updated to 1.04.00 drivers

DirectX 7.0a

I have contacted 3dfx tech support about this problem.

Please help soon. I miss playing it in 3D mode.

My first impulse was to delete this topic, like the other duplicates I just deleted.

You have obviously have not read the FAQ. The drivers on the downloads page are only for BC3K and do not affect drivers already on your system.

When I get back, I'm killing this thread.

I have not been around this forum very long but already I have learnt that there is a certain process to go through when you have any problem with BC3K, it goes something like this:

STEP 1: Read the README.TXT file in the BC3K directory.

STEP 2: Read the FAQ. If this doesn't help, read it again. If it still doesn't help go to STEP 3.

STEP 3: Read the VC file, twice. Still no luck, go to STEP 4.

STEP 4: Come on over to the Discussion Forums but don't get excited and start a new thread. Just do a search for related topics, it's more than likely that someone, somewhere has had a similar proble to you!

STEP 5: Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3.

STEP 6: If you are still out of luck, you can proceed to create a new thread. Keep it short and precise, don't ramble or talk giberish, include your system specs and the current version you are running.

STEP 7: Enjoy playing the game!
