Madrac Posted July 10, 2000 Report Posted July 10, 2000 Ok i click the 3dfxicon in my start menu, then it goes to a dos screen writes a bunch of stuff my screen goes black and then im back at my desktop. if i click on the 2d one same thing happens but the screen goes black and stays that way. Now then if i click on the 3dfx icon in the folder i instaled it to,it types stuff on a doss screen and the screen goes blank if i try again it says my sound card is in use. For some strange reason once i clicked on the 2d and the game worked i saw the intro and got to start a game. its never worked again but i can get it to play the intro then the screen goes black and if i click the 2d icon again it says the sound card is in use. does anyone know why this is happening, if you need more info tell me and ill specify.
Parias Posted July 10, 2000 Report Posted July 10, 2000 How'zabout instead of making us ask for the info, you just say it right off the bat? Like, what vid card do you have and what are your exact system specs? Also, did you check previous posts in this forum, and read the technical FAQ?------------------ Cmdr. Paul Keith Collins Posted July 10, 2000 Report Posted July 10, 2000 Hi Madrac like Parias stated if you give us the th speccs of your system along with the current version of the BC3000AD you have installed we might be able to offer you the help that you require where as at the moment we are working blind.------------------ CMDR Lord Darth Vader FLEET: GALCOM PRIME GCV Imperium ICQ# 45333631 [This message has been edited by Paul Keith Collins (edited 07-10-2000).]

I have a 700 mhz pentium 3 with windows 98. as for memory i dont know right off hand but its allot. ive got a creative sound blaster audiopci 128, and a sound blaster audipci 128 legacy device, my video card is a dimond stealth 3 16mb s540. i did look at the faq which fixed my inital problem (installing it to a directorie with more than 8 charectors.) i did also check other posts and they seemed unrelated, but i will check again closer. Alright i think that about covers it im sorry if i made anyone mad by not giveing all my specs out in the first post i wont let it happen again. however if i did manage to miss something just let me know ill reply as soon as i know.

Eclipse Posted July 10, 2000 Report Posted July 10, 2000 I don't think the Diamond Stealth 3 is a 3DFX card so you can only run it in software mode. I don't know whats going on with it in software mode. I'm assuming you set up the soundcard properly and that it worked fine in the soundset prog. ------------------ Cmdr. Madrac Posted July 11, 2000 Author Report Posted July 11, 2000 Yes the tests all worked ill check thema gain make sure everything there is in order. is there a way you can check to see if the game is running off the video card or softwear?
Guest aramike01 Posted July 11, 2000 Report Posted July 11, 2000 Ummm, sure...you'll know whether it's accelerated or not depending upon the icon you click on. If you start the game in software mode, then it's in software mode. ------------------ Cmdr.
