Gordon Posted July 21, 2000 Report Posted July 21, 2000 I am running Battle Cruiser v2.09 and am unable to get it to load beyond the first screen(using bc3k). I have gotten it to run using the windows version (bc3kwin-full.exe) but it eventually boots me back out to windows. As your documentation states front end sound is non existent or broken up. I have also enclosed a copy of my config.sys and autoexec.bat files just in case they are needed. I would like to get this up and running so I may practice my skills so I will be ready for BCM when it goes gold. I have plenty of memory 128mb so I know that this can not be the problem. Can you help ? Gallion Posted July 22, 2000 Report Posted July 22, 2000 The on-board video chipset on your Intel 810 Motherboard cannot support BC3K. IOW you are experiencing lack of video memory.I suggest investing in a decent 2d/3d PCI video card (voodoo3 series).Then again I may be incorrect in my analysis.TTFN
Supreme Cmdr Posted July 22, 2000 Report Posted July 22, 2000 Gallion is right. You have to either get updated VESA drivers for it, or use the Sci-Tech Display Doctor, the add /vi in the BC3K.BAT file to run the game.

Gordon Posted August 10, 2000 Author Report Posted August 10, 2000 There are different executables for the program, make sure that you are using the right one. Since you have a 3DFX card you should be using bc3k (3Dfx). If that does not work download the chipset info program and have it detect your card type and add the number shown to the batch file. You may also find further information in the archives and the faq's on this site. By the way my game still crashes but I think it has to do with my mouse driver (generic scroll mouse), I have read issues in the archives regarding this issue. Good Luck ------------------ rgordon434

It's 9115 mb size & uses Disk Bios Translation [LBA] (pulled from f1 boot info). Gordon Posted August 10, 2000 Author Report Posted August 10, 2000 Don't know what the problem could be, i have a Voodoo3 - 16 mb card running in its native mode (did not update Voodoo drivers). My original problem was due to the Intel 810 chipset which is not supported by this game. Try sending your post to tech support they responded very quickly to my email.------------------ rgordon434

If soo that ia where the trouble is the game usues that part of the memory the floppy made to getthe harddrive max. size on line. Patch from 2.08 to 2.09. Unzip the Voodoo2 drive to the folder where the game is installed. Run Sound Setup.If you send email to the support email address, you'll get an autoresponder back with detailed steps.
