Guest garyp Posted July 16, 2001 Report Posted July 16, 2001 New Cmdr here, so please be gentle. I've got a couple of questions that I couldn't find the answers to in the manuel or on the forums. 1) In the HUD to the left of the cloak display what does TCMD mean? It doesn't seem to change 2) I amassed a small fortune trading deflector arrays (thanks for the tips). So I upgraded my BC with OTS missles for a strike at the Gammulan homeworld to put an end to the threat once and for all . As I was obliterating military installation left and right, (I left the civilan population alone) I was running out of missles and decided to bug on out of there after I fired off my last rounds. I noticed that if I jump out of the region my experience points didn't go up for the last salvo I launched. So I waited long enough to give the missles plenty of time to reached their targets, jump back into the region and noticed that they were still flying toward their targets. It looks like if you don't stay within the region to get the singing bird animation your missles don't get any processing time and so never reach their targets.
Eclipse Posted July 16, 2001 Report Posted July 16, 2001 Read the manual and search the forum about the HSD. And Welcome.
Epsilon 5 Posted July 16, 2001 Report Posted July 16, 2001 The TCMD is the "Trans-matrix Cloaking device". It's an artifact. Read about it.
Supreme Cmdr Posted July 16, 2001 Report Posted July 16, 2001 ...and you should only hear the tweeting birds when you use the RANDOM artifact weapon enhancement.[ 07-16-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

I'll say at first I don't know for sure, as I never had the thing onboard myself, but the sequence of characters don't comply to the word "Trans-Matrix Cloaking Device".My guess is that he got to the rank (in-game, not online) of Tacops Commander without knowing. That would make sense together with him saying he nuked the Gams into self-illuminating Garden Gnomes. Those OTS' are real EP uppers. Especially since he's doing free-flight, he can't have found artifacts. But then there's cheat #6 ofcourse.[ 07-16-2001: Message edited by: Rico Jansen ]

Just a regular free flight game. As for the birds singing, I'm refering to the animation that plays whenever a OTS missle reaches its targets. There's a pull back from the site with the birds singing in the background then the nuke hits. Of course this doesn't seem to happen if you're not in the region to witness it hence no experience point upgrade.

Yeah, I think everyone's right. I'll have to check it again after work tonight. Anyways that indicator is never lite so I probably don't have it on board.
