Guest [email protected] Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 hello i need to know when i look at screenshots it shows a blue nebula sort of thing in space near earth why is it i cannot see it? i am not using a 3dfx.exe bec i dont have a vodoo card but i have anoher card not vodoo?
R_wilco Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 Um, do you mean the BCM screenshots or the BC3K 2.0X screenshots? In BCM there is a blue nebula background for the earth zone, but not in BC3K as far as I know.
R_wilco Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 OH OK...I just noticed what you are talking about in the screenshots. I think you need to run the BC3K 3DFX shortcut, as for your voodoo card, I'm not sure. I think the 3DFX will work even you don't have a voodoo card, but you should go read the FAQ.
Papi Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 Hi J.A. Nebulae is visible only when using 3dfx graphics cards. And BTW R_wilco go read the FAQ before giving people wrong information!
Soback Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 Yeah, I have voodoo3 and BC3000AD plays great.
Guest [email protected] Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 yeah but when i play in 3dfx.exe it loads up then shuts down. i have a geforce2 graphics card.
Guest IamVincent Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 Then you won't be able to use the 3dfx shortcut. Just use the normal software rendering. Sure, it doesn't feature a blue nebulae, but you can enjoy tons of other nice touches (gameplay wise).
Epsilon 5 Posted August 8, 2001 Report Posted August 8, 2001 Try to run OpenGL on a V3. It won't, for the same reason that the Gf2 won't run 3dfx. Unsupported graphical API.
Guest [email protected] Posted August 8, 2001 Report Posted August 8, 2001 what do u mean a v3 and i know what opengl is but how should i use this to my advantage
Guest IamVincent Posted August 8, 2001 Report Posted August 8, 2001 V3 is short for a Voodoo 3 graphics card. Since you use a Geforce 2 card you can't run BC3K in 3dfx mode and (as far as I know) aren't able to use OpenGL with the game. Just use the normal software rendering with BC3K or try the BCM demo's wich use Direct 3D acceleration.
Guest Remo Williams Posted August 8, 2001 Report Posted August 8, 2001 Read the manual!! unless you have a 3dfx video card you need to run the BC3K.bat file which is software rendering. You won't see the nebula.BC3K doesn't use opengl he was comparing to video cards.[ 08-08-2001: Message edited by: Remo Williams ]
