ausraider2 Posted November 15, 2001 Report Posted November 15, 2001 Hey,Really getting into things now and its great!Just a couple of questions on Probe programming. Is it possible to Tacop-link to a probe in a region and observe a planet surface in that region via Tacop-Probe-Link?I've tried this with just sending the probe to eg. Earth region and although I could view Earth globe from space I couldn't Observe the surface.I know there are 2 modes of operation for probes, Navscan and Orbscan but I can't make out from the manual how to set the probe into Orbscan mode - Its default launch mode is Navscan I think.Probes take a while to get from one place to another,I know, so here is my scenario.1.BC located in Majoris. 2.Launch SR Probe. 3.Launch shuttle. 4.Tractor probe with shuttle. 5.Use shuttle to tow probe to Pluto region. 6.Release probe near the Earth jump gate. 7.Program probe to jump to Earth. 8.Probe enters Earth region. At this point, the NID probe display reads that the probes next target is 'to Venus' jump gate.Questions: A.How do I send the probe into Orbit around Earth? B.How do I change the Probe from Navscan to Orbscan? Thanks Ausraider2
Gallion Posted November 15, 2001 Report Posted November 15, 2001 No, you have to be in the same region as the planet is in to observe the planet's surface.TTFN
