CedricB Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 anyone remember what rank I'm supposed to be? As a flight officer I'd assume at least a Lt.
Zane_Marlowe Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 Hey guys, we're back online, go to the ISS website and get registered at iss.galcom.net.
Ben Zwycky Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 I created an account, but it didn't send me an email to confirm. Anyway, people should create a link to the fleet site from ISS Fleet in their sig (like in mine)
y2kewel Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 I also tried to creat an account but never got the confirmation.
Zane_Marlowe Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 Alright guys, I've sent you each a PM with your account details. I created them myself. I'll need to iron out the site's emailing functions, but for now you can at least login to the site.
Zane_Marlowe Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 Also, the website now hosts the graphics files for our sigs. The sigs are named for each wing as follows: Defense Fleet - Defenseloop.gif CIOPS - CIOPSloop.gif ISS Fleet - ISSloop.gif These can be accessed via the images folder from our site on galcom.net by putting the filename at the end of the directory, i.e., for the defense fleet you'd put the following URL in your sig: http://iss.galcom.net/images/Defenseloop.gif
Ben Zwycky Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 The filename for the Defense wing logo actually uses the British spelling i.e. Defenceloop.gif. Otherwise correct. In other words, if you guys have already updated your sigs to the structure described in the fleet sigs thread, just take the /artwork out of the animated logo link. btw, Zane, I didn't get your PM.
Zane_Marlowe Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Thanks for the heads-up Denny! Alright, fast decision time, do we need the site for the next two weeks?
Ben Zwycky Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Well, we have Rip's offer of webspace. We've survived so far without our own forums, we can survive another two weeks, what do you guys think?
Guest Remo Williams Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 Sorry Ben wish I didn't have to move. Your site will be back up ASAP. Us over at Prime HQ will not have a forum either. When everything goes back online I'll have a UC server up that you guys can use for training assignments also. Regards
Rip Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 I will set up a hosting account right away. I am currently conferring with the appropriate ISS authorities via secure comms
Guest Remo Williams Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Read this, This should make things a lot easier for you guys.
Zane_Marlowe Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Wow, thanks Remo! Does the new webhost support php and MySQL as your previous hosting solution did (I'd suppose it does, knowing you, but it's good to ask).
Rip Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Not much space or bandwidth. Hopefully it will be enough. If not feel free to use the hosting I set up without regard to space or bandwidth.

Just found out they don't support PHP so I'm going to cancel and continue to host the domains myself. As Rip said that way you will have no limits on space or bandwidth.
Ben Zwycky Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 We can always use Rip's offer as a temporary fallback location, should the worst happen.
Commander Jamont Posted October 22, 2004 Author Report Posted October 22, 2004 people , you can also use my webspace i got msql and php you name it pass me a p.m. and your account will be soon setup
Ben Zwycky Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 Rip's already set us up an account on his webspace. It also supports mysql and php.
Guest Remo Williams Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Well Commanders thanks to Rip Galcom.net has a new host. I'll be transfering all your content to your subdomain by tomorrow. Cmdr. Zane I'll send you a PM with your FTP account info by tomorrow also. This host has all the features that I offered PHP, CGI, MySQl database etc. Ben do you want FTP access also?
Guest Remo Williams Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 Ok I sent the FTP login info plus all the other info Zane needs. All the content has been transfered to the new host as well. I'm sure you knew that already though since your sig logos are working again. LOL! The url to the subdomain is the same as before. http://iss.galcom.net It's displaying error messages at the moment from PHPNuke I guess you need to modify a few setting for the new host.
Zane_Marlowe Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 I'll be on that either later tonight or tomorrow morning, so we'll have our ISS site back online shortly. Thanks again Remo and Rip for taking on the extra load on this stuff in your respective modes, we appreciate it.
