Epsilon 5 Posted January 23, 2001 Report Posted January 23, 2001 Each time I go on a planet, I always get to the same area, and it takes me a hell lot of time to get to the starbase, even if I go down on the planet by different approachs. Is there a way to:a: travel faster on a planet (more than 2200 to travel 16000 units...)?b: get directly to where you want to go when you descent into atmosphere?
Eclipse Posted January 23, 2001 Report Posted January 23, 2001 Not sure what you are talking about, but when I set waypoints for my shuttles they usually enter the planets atmosphere very close to the site. I would try AP see if that helps as well as setting waypoints.------------------ Commodore Kyle Antilles ICV-Eclipse, Destiny Starstation (Nevuela) Commanding Officer, Destiny Spectre Fleet"You can only love or hate something you truly understand"
Hector Socas Navarro Posted January 23, 2001 Report Posted January 23, 2001 Yep. Set waypoints near the point you want to egress and do planetfall in AP mode.------------------ See you out there, among the starsCmdr Nava, GCV Nemesis (Official BC3k tester)
Epsilon 5 Posted January 24, 2001 Author Report Posted January 24, 2001 Huh, sorry, but I don't know how to access to the planet when I'm in space, but using AP in atmosphere make my speed go to ~8500, but its still not enough. Half an hour is kinda lot of time.------------------ ------------------ Commander Epsilon 5 StalkerIV Fleet-unregistered"Hmmm... what was that? Just another fighter explosion."
Kush Posted January 24, 2001 Report Posted January 24, 2001 I could be wrong, but I think the best way to set a way point on a planet from space is to go to the tac ops screen, click on the centre of the planet and it should ask if you would like to observe the planet. From there you can set way points for the ship, shuttles or anything else.I could be wrong but it should work.
Joel Schultz Posted January 24, 2001 Report Posted January 24, 2001 You might want to brush up on TACOPS. From there, you can select planets, zoom in (observe) the surface, and set waypoints for any ships you control. Details in the manual.(What Kush said )Wow Kush, your post must've gone in during the minute it took me to do mine! Sorry for the redundant reply [This message has been edited by Joel Schultz (edited 01-24-2001).]
aramike Posted January 24, 2001 Report Posted January 24, 2001 Epsilon 5, go to TACOPS, create a waypoint on the planet for your shuttle, launch shuttle from TACOPS, and it will do the rest.
Gallion Posted January 24, 2001 Report Posted January 24, 2001 what all said plus RTFM pay particuliar attention to the section outlining ...setting waypoints...TTFN[This message has been edited by Gallion (edited 01-24-2001).]
Epsilon 5 Posted January 30, 2001 Author Report Posted January 30, 2001 Sorry for my late response, I have been occupied a lot lately. Thanks for the tip, I'll try it as soon as I can. Maybe the light will come and the Earth Starbase will raise upon horizon...
