desolator Posted August 3, 2001 Report Posted August 3, 2001 I haven't found a post or information about this so I asume noone has asked... otherwise I am sorry to have asked this question:What type of manual will BCM include? A thick/thin paperbook or only as .PDF or something like that? (I haven't anything against the .PDF manuals that came with BC3K free release though, I'm just curious.)
Supreme Cmdr Posted August 3, 2001 Report Posted August 3, 2001 It will have a full printed manual. The appendix data will be online in HTML format, instead of PDF.There are NO plans to include an online manual.
desolator Posted August 3, 2001 Author Report Posted August 3, 2001 this will sound like bootlicking, but Derek, You are the most respected and greatest gamemaker EVER, in my opinion. Not only do you release a version of the space game of my dreams for free, no you go even further by making an even better game of the same game, and then you stick with a printed manual instead of these awkward online manuals. Now that is something you don't see every day. [ 08-03-2001: Message edited by: desolator ]
Wolferz Posted August 4, 2001 Report Posted August 4, 2001 It's not bootlicking, desolator. It's called Spit Shining
MidnightGreen Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 I thought it was ass kissing, of course what do i know I'm just in the Janitorial Fleet.
desolator Posted August 7, 2001 Author Report Posted August 7, 2001 hehe, whatever.. I was just showing in a weird way my gratitude to the person that finally make a game that is FUN and that doesn't end quickly like all the games that are made in present time. I grew up with the C64 and Amiga computer and the game mentality from those computers are not the same as todays, where the purpose of a game is to sell well (in most cases) and not so much on story and detail, just eyecandy. yukk.. although I must say that BCM looks so real and beautiful when running it on a 22" screen in a perfectly dark room.
MidnightGreen Posted August 8, 2001 Report Posted August 8, 2001 Desolator I know what you mean I grew up with the C64 but also with the Atari. I do have a confession to make I never beat any game for the Atari (like Pitfall) I don't think the games back then ever had an ending. Now I can go through games today like I go through new pairs of underware (Janitorial Fleet quote) it's quite disturbing but I can't wait for BCM (but I am anyway)
SpotSD Posted August 10, 2001 Report Posted August 10, 2001 I was wondering, about how many pages will the manual be? and will there be an extensive strategy guide released later?
Supreme Cmdr Posted August 10, 2001 Report Posted August 10, 2001 SpotSD, didn't I warn you in another thread, about that ludicrous sig? Do you want me to kill your profile?
MidnightGreen Posted August 10, 2001 Report Posted August 10, 2001 I know what the 20th Oxymoron is going to be20. SpotSD want me to kill your profile?
SpotSD Posted August 11, 2001 Report Posted August 11, 2001 It's already been changed. And if you did warn me I must not have been back to that thread sorry.[Edit] Uh my question about the manual is still floating around out there just waiting to be answered [ 08-11-2001: Message edited by: SpotSD ]
