200m??? Are people a lot stronger in the future?

That is one hell of a long way, I could (a long time ago) through a cricket ball maybe up to 70 - 80m on a good day, but 200m? Does this include the boouncing distance as well? I know it's only a game etc etc, but still.....

Well, we do have different planets and moons in BCM, with (one would expect) varying gravity. Maybe 200m is realistic on a world with lower gravity, like the moon? Certainly not on Jupiter (if you could stand on its surface, if it has one...)

Actually I was sort of thinking the same thing, a rifle fired grenade would go farther than a hand thrown grenade by a great bit. Of course you have to take into account height of land you are throwing from, direction, gravity, whether you are throwing down a hill or up a hill, or even over...

200 meters is like 1/5 of a kilometer... maybe a 1/4 of a mile. Of course SC said "up to" so perhaps he means that in certain places it will be impossible to throw that far due to gravity restraints?

I'm guessing that on an Earth planet, perhaps you can only throw maybe 50m but on Mars for instance 150m and on the moon perhaps 200m?

Up to 200m.. i understand that its 200 or less... but how can a NORMAL human being throw a grenade UP TO 200m? Hell I can hardly do 50m with a piece of rock... How could anyone do 200m with a grenade... commanders and marines aren't athletes.

I'm assuming that gravity on planets has something to do with it. Read my post above man, perhaps Earth gravity makes 200meters impossible, while on the Moon it makes it easy...

At least until the damn thing explodes. I remember in Rogue Spear when I would tell my men to throw a grenade into a room... they would line up, kick open the door, and throw the grenade - which then proceeded to bounce off the door frame and back into my squad while the terrorists in the room laughed.

Anyway I'm guessing that environments will react differently to the grenades. I'm assuming FP combat may need to be tweaked in the future to make it more balanced.

Different planets' atmosphere, gravity, surfaces (if it bounces on land, sinks in water, bounces of a building etc), all affect it. You can even play pool grenade or pinball grenades if you like.

Thats that what ...up to means.

In other words, you want to be a "normal" marine? Why didn't you just say that instead?
