Is 50,000 (Stg Cmdr) the only command ability milestone? And are there any for the other careers?

Ok, THIS is the ONLY way to improve Marine AI, and it's shown by a story.

I send down 10 marines to Earth from my nice new Megaron to scout out the area where i'm about to deploy a drone. Two get "infected". I'm thinking how did that happen! So I go to tacops, and evac via teleport, all 8 of the non-infected marines, then I beam down myself. I look around, then shoot both marines through the head, then beam back up to the ship. That'll teach em to get infected.

LMAO!!! Well, here's another story that should catch the AI Marine's attention.

8 or so Intruders come out of nowhere, and start rampaging through the corridors of my ship. I manually tell all 20 of my marines to start searching. I also turn off launch control. I assume that they can handle it, so I go back to my own business. A few minutes later, I find myself dead. 20 vs 8 and I still died?

I was left wondering what the hell Resnig did the whole time in Operations with all my marines. I mean, he's gotta be doing something! What, is he playing poker? Well, I didn't care. I started up a new game, put myself, 10 marines, and Resnig all in a shuttle, and went planetside, Centris. Told all the marines to start shooting him. Boy, was it funny. They were shooting missiles and stuff. Then again, they were missing half the time, because Resnig never taught them how to use their weapons. I got tired and shot him down myself with my wristlaser.

The best way to raise Marine AI: get rid of (or better yet, kill) Resnig and train the marines yourself.

ROFLMAO!!!!!! That is the best. Those intruders must have been geniuses if they got past ALL the marines, and managed to kill you when every officer on the bridge has a gun. Did the commlink just pop up and say you died or did you see them shoot you.

Training them yourself...not a bad idea. I think i'm going to go get a firestorm, put all my marines on Earth, and order them to all shoot each other tournament style. 1v1 X 20 and see who wins. Then keep doing it over and over until I have a ship full of battle-hardened marines! Ill post the story after i'm done.

The intruders appeared in the Transporter Room. IIRC from BC3k, that's on the same deck as the Bridge. (Could be mistaken.) Now, Operations is near the Bridge, but I'm really not sure how they killed me, still. Wasn't paying attention to Perscan after I first noticed and sent the Marine orders. Then it shows that commlink page with the thing that says I died.... I got quite a kick out of that. 2.5 of my guys to one of the intruders. I had every reason to take out revenge on Resnig.

Hey $iLk, I think you have a rival for the position of resident Bligh.

I wonder if anyone is radically opposed to wasting 3,000,000 on a Bugnor, aimed at a little TTD on the planet's surface.

Or, 1,500,000 for a new shuttle after you blow it apart.

"Why? Resnig?" "Yup."

I wonder how much fun it would be to shoot Resnig yourself... too bad you can't customise your inventory as a commander, or I'd order him to run away while I blow off his legs with a BMP-9.

(Actually, I'm not radically opposed to Resnig, but it's fun being sadistic. )

Or just put him on a shuttle, and order him to fly into a sun.

Then clone him and when he asks "So, what happened to the last me?" everyone just goes

Lets put it this way. Unless you are really good, and your crew have been eating their Wheaties regularly, you don't stand a chance against an AI level 80 adversary, let alone 100

You know, a game developer (Mr. Wing Commader, wassizname...Roberts?) once said that in one-on-one combat, no AI could stand up against a human opponent. I guess he's in for a bit of a surprise...

I'll admit he did a good one. I wish your people could get tired of swimming and drown so my formation swimming I made my whole bridge crew do would have ended good.

I used to try to tractor ships and drag them into the water and release them and laugh while they sink.

I suppose I'll have to transport Resnig to a gas giant...

That lighting will make him dance...

Uh, let's get back on topic. Is there any way for AI to go down? I'd hate it if that happened.

That's not quite true. I cloned a pilot, and when he came back to the living, he still had his CMs and CKs. I don't know about his AI, since it never went up in the first place.

On another note, the CVD shows vital stats of all your officers and pilots. When I queried myself, and looked at EP. Is there something behind the graphical representation of it? By that, I mean, I have approx. 6000 EPs. The meter extends about halfway. Wouldn't it make more sense to stack it so that it would fill up at your next promotion, at which time, it would empty again, tracking your progress to the promotion after that?

Also, I noticed something called HF (I think) along with LF, FF, and AI. I'm not sure what it means, since it's not in the manual and not shown on the roster. Does anyone know about this?

Why does your AE has a AI value?

I was thinking maybe he runs throught the ship faster to the shuttle bay, transporter. Or gives orders with that war hardened vetran captain look.

SO what does the AE do with that AI?

The same thing any NPC does. Your AE is a game entity, just like your pilots etc.

CM (combat missions - if I recall correctly) and CK (combat kills) are not AI points. A pilot with hundreds of each that has the AI of an eggplant will behave like...an eggplant.
