I am not sure if this happens to other people, but for me the enemy marines don't attack the AE when I am a commander. It does happen in instant action but in roam mode, I never get attacked by an enemy marine. They do attack my marines but not the AE. I am almost posotive that I have the script updates installed properly because marines do come out of the bunkers now while before the script updates there wasn't an enemy marine in sight. Does this happen with anyone else? Just try transporting into an enemy city by yourself and see if anything happens.

It's been discussed and problem fixed. What version of BCM are you playing?

Ditto. I believe a fresh install with the latest patch should fix the problem. Let us know if it continues.

Enemy marines have been blowing large holes in my arse. Which isn't cool since I'm the 1st. OMB leader. Maybe I should let my men charge in first.

There are over six tech support messages to him about that. To the extent that one got sent directly to me.

So far, nobody has been able to reproduce it. I beam my Ter/Mil AE directly into a Ter/Ins base on Earth and I get my ass flamed to a fine crisp. So, I dunno what the problem is.

I have tried a fresh install several times, and nothing works. Just to make sure, you install the script updates to C:Program Files3000ADBattlecruiser Mellennium, right? Do you have to do anything else with them?

After you do a fresh install, be sure that you apply the patch from inside the directory that BCM is installed in (copy the patch into BCM folder and double click on it).

ok I'll try putting the patch in that directory before installing it. The script updates end up in a folder called data.

No. Thats wrong. They go into the DATA folder. And if you unzip the file with folders intact, thats where they will go.

What?!? You mean you ignored this warning displayed in the FAQ and the downloads page?

Try this after uninstalling, re-installing, patching to 1.0.07 and unzipping the scripts update file into the BCM install folder (with folders intact). You will know the script update went fine if your zip program asked your permission to overwrite two files in that folder.

  1. Start a new game as Ter/Mil commander
  2. Launch
  3. Send the AE (do NOT transport any marines!) to the transporter and then beam him into the middle of a hostile Ter/Ins military or starbase.

Run around a bit and make sure you are detected and let's if you don't get acquired and attacked.

I want some more people to try this please and let me know the results.

When I unzip the script updates it didn't ask me to replace anything. When I look into my data folder there are 2 WINZIP files that the script updates made. One is called worlds, the other is called scenarios. The thing that might be different is that they are zip files and not configuration settings files like all of the other files in that folder.

i'm running the latest patch and i transported my AE to an enemy base, and got killed in seconds by loads of enemy marines.

If you have Winzip set to overwrite existing files without prompting, then it won't prompt.

Those are zip files. If you actually looked in the zip file you downloaded, you would see what it contains.

I have forgotten about this game for a little while. Then I found the disk again and looked at your website. 1.8 with multiplayer is out. I installed the patch with winzip just like instructed. It says I am playing 1.8 when the 3000AD movie is playing. I still get the soldier problem and I can't select multiplayer on the list. Its like the patch did nothing even though I followed your instructions very carefully. Maybe all the patches I installed didn't work. could there be something wrong with my disk to where it doesn't accept patches? I don't know how that would work. Did everyone have the soldier problem in 1.0? I installed all the patches word for word just like you told me to. It is very strange that no one else has this problem. I think I have bad luck.

The 1.0.08 patch that is currently available is a beta patch, not the final release of it. Also the 1.0.08 patch does not include multiplayer. The final 1.0.08 patch will be the final patch before the multiplayer patch is released.
