Geforce FAQ is one of the best (if not the best) websites for information on nVidia v-cards. I almost lived at this site during the beta.

From The Inquirer

"SOURCES CLOSE TO NVIDIA told the INQUIRER it believed that problems experienced by people using its 23.11 drivers are not due to its software but down to Via.

That might put Nvidia in the clear if it's correct but leaves a number of end users frustrated by a glitch that makes their machine displays go haywire.

Nvidia sources said that the problem with 23.11 and Via chipsets is related to a BIOS glitch and that is why a patch is being made available to its end users on the Via Arena site.

Yet, as we reported last week, other people using Intel chipsets also seem to have been plagued by the problem - which would seem to put this sensitive ball back in Nvidia's half of the court."

From www.viaarena.com

"NEW 4in1 drivers, version 4.36: An updated 4in1 service pack has just been released on the Drivers Page. This includes the new and improved IDE driver version 1.20. It also includes a silent installation of a patch which adjusts a memory setting in BIOS on some VIA Apollo chipsets to ensure stability with the latest video drivers under all Windows Operating Systems."

The inquirer made another article about the bug-war between Via and Nvidia, which is now between Nvidia and all chipset producers.

Read it and if you are in the situation they describe PLEASE ANSWER THEM !

Via made an uptade to their 4in1 4.36 drivers. It is still 4.36, but the silent patch for nvidia cards has been updated. You can find it at www.viaarena.com

PS in my case nvidia 23.11 with 4in1 4.36 was a good fix, it worked fixing frequent BSOD on win xp.
