Shuttles @ Negative altitude

This may not even be a bug but I'll post it anyway.

Doing the ACM and deployed my shuttles to drop my mining drones. Set the waypoint to deploy drones. Looks like they're proceeding to the waypoints, but they weren't losing altitude like they were going to land.

So I tell them real quickly to RTB then I tell them to resume waypoints. They understand this and resume the deploy drone order. Now they're descending faster (altitude is actually dropping as opposed to staying pretty much the same) but they're at a negative altitude value (as displayed on the shuttle popup on the HUD on the bridge).

Now mind you, I did set the waypoints for -5000m or something similar because in BCM that worked to deploy drones. Does that no longer work? Are they supposed to be at negative altitude values?
