Can't Re-Capture Station

I captured Pixan a few days ago and it's status changed from Ter/RAI to Ter/Mil and became Green (friendly). After I took over another couple of bases, I looked at it and it was red, but it still shows up as Ter/Mil, I flew over to the area and bombarded it down to 400 when it let out an SOS so I docked with it. Traded some stuff and then came back out. As soon as I came back out, I got a message that said, docking clearace denied and Pixan started firing at me, though it now shows up Gray (disabled). Do I have to wait a certain amount of time before trying to retake a base that I captured previously, or do I just need to destroy that thing?
