Farten Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 I have BCM with patch 1.08 Full applied Being a noob I was experimenting with intruders and prisoners. I found the topics talking about shutting down the power to the launch bays and reading the manual taught me to dock with a station (twice ? - once to make intruders prisoners .. and then once more to have them removed ? I think) Anyway - I started a new game, waited outside Galcom, klaxon sounded ... so I docked and had 4 prisoners ... I launched and then redocked, at which time I had 7 prisoners. I expected them to be removed and have zero when I relaunched ... but 2 were still present ... so I turned back and re-docked ... over and over ... but I always had prisoners when I left (and my experience was negative, but Idon't know if that is relevant) Is there somewhere I am supposed to request the station security to remove the prisoners ? what am I doing wrong ?

Sounds like you're having some sort of error, but I can tell you why you're getting negative experience. When the game first starts you should assign your marines to Prep for combat. Once you have intruders on board they will be better equiped to handle them. As soon as you have intruders on board you should: 1. Cut off launch power and assign a couple of marines to go to each shuttle (they will surely try to escape with one of your shuttles after doing some damage) 2. Assign as many marines as possible to search duty. (Later, as Resnigs experience gets higher, he will do this automatically) 3. Only AFTER the intruders have been taken prisoner should you dock with the station, otherwise instead of getting positive experience you will get negative experience for not being able to handle your own ship, and needing the station's Marines to do your dirty work!

If you are playing a military or police caste (my guess is you're playing Ter/Mil) and ANY friendly or neutral caste is destroyed you will receive negative EP. You might ask how that is possible since there haven't been any enemy (red) craft in the area. If a mercenary (neutral) destroys a diplomat ship (also neutral), you'll receive negative EP because you didn't protect the diplomat. Check your private messages.
