BCM Cargo scans not working on different RACE/CASTES

As a TER/MIL person, I can use the cargo scan interface on the BC or shuttle to scan the cargo stores of other TER/MIL ships, but not the ones of other races like the ones carrying the artifacts - NO STORES INFO is displayed. The only way I any know that someone has something to "collect" is by using that command on deployed shuttles to retrieve the cargo & only then do I know what the other ships had on them. If it's me doing something wrong, then please let me how to correct this issue. Thanks.

it's just that the cargo info is only shown to crafts of the same race/caste

you wouldn't want an unfriendly craft to know you had desirable items onboard, right? (especially in multiplayer)

True, but how are you supposed to look for the artifacts without endangering your shuttles? If the BC had a "collect" option or something that could tell you to search a particular ship, then it would be a different story. Just the same, thanks for the reply.

The easier way it's not ever the best!! Try to look for ship doing something strange..... maybe that's the effect of an alien and precious artifact.......

Yeah, I just realized that most cargo carrying vessels seem to go on "patrol" in a region before docking or jumping out of there. I'll keep a better eye out in the future since it might have been how I found the CO artifact. Thanks for the advice folks...
