Hi, I bought bcmg a few days ago and i haven't been able to leave my pc since. This game is superb but I have a few questions....

1. Im having trouble setting planetary waypoints for fighters during a ground assault. I set the waypoint with the sad action (have tried the strike order aswel) but as soon as the fighters enter the atmosphere they turn around and head home. I have to change the fighters orders when it enters the atmosphere to target specific buildings until it destroys it, then do the same again until all targets are destroyed. How can i get them to do this on their own?

2. Why won't my fighters fire missiles when in ground opperations, i launch with the strike loadout, which according to the manual is ata and ats weapons but they dont use them...is this an AI related problem.

3. More of a curiosity this one, but how do you handle the crew fatigue factor in a heavy carrier. At some point you have to send all of your medics, sys engineers, officers etc... off duty because of hunger and fatigue. Do you still play as normal and engage the enemy or park up somewhere and wait.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanx

Welcome!

  1. If they don't see a target, they will RTB. They do not regard buildings as high threat targets. You should also set more than one waypoint, with the last one being Repeat Actions. i.e. set wp 1 and 2 as SAD (at different parts of the area), then wp3 as Repeat Actions. They will then repeatedly fly the pattern and hopefully will find something to attack. To have them RTB, just change the order of wp3 to RTB and when they hit wp3 again, they will RTB.
  2. Yes, it is AI related. Depending on the AI of the pilot, he/she will not use missiles unless absolutely necessary. If their target is far off and they can launch and want to launch, they will. A low AI pilot will usually waste his missiles. Also their range to target is vital to their use of missiles. e.g. if they are too close to the target, they won't launch because they have to adhere to the missile specifications (e.g. the minimum launch range). btw check the appendix for missile stats.
  3. It depends on your preference. If you search for fatigue in this forum, you should see several hits discussing this topic.
