Some Ideas.................

Wonderful game been playing it for months now and this is my second post, not to give across I know better than you SC but here are some ideas which I come up with after my months of playing. Sorry if some may have been said before. (Also donÔÇÖt know if this is the right forum or if these have been implemented in the newer games).

1. Landing gears for the command ships, I would love to see my command ship land on a planet with the landing gear instead of hovering on the lowest point at the bottom of the ship.

2. I wondered if it was possible to have proper simulated damage to the ship (Like in Star Trek Klingon Academy), for instance large chunks of the ships hull being blasted off, and leaving hull scars where lasers hit.

3. Another damage idea, I thought could it be possible to have the ship lights flickers on and off (windows) as power reactors are damaged.

4. Another one, when the ship ejects the core could it fall out of the ship and can be recovered and repaired instead of it just being ejected and lost.

5. Is it possible to give a face to each crew member and a name instead of a number and job? Also with my ideas of crew on space ships from sci-fi films I was wondering if it could also be possible to have ever member of the crew being able to do every task. But each member of the crew has a percentage of how good they are at doing a job. For instance they may have a skill level of 14% at systems engineering, but 1% at medical so you would allocate that person to an engineering position. This I thought could be displayed in the tactical under the crew area and when you click their name a window opens showing the crew members stats.

6. Follow on from the last idea I thought could battle drills, fire drills, etc be carried out. These would be used to increase crew skills and prepare the crew for battle. These drills could be used to increase the ships morale and efficiency of the crew to improve the crew performance (Your actions could also effect this, like killing an enemy ship)

7. With the increase of depth with the crew members could more ship tasks be cared out by them? Like gunners, fire fighters, research scientists, etc so you are properly allocating the entire ships crew and their job and task so the best person does the best job and giving a realistic feel to star ship command.

8. The one everyone says the gun sounds could be updated from the original, as well as you could add different guns to upgrade the ship with.

9. I think you could have set up a point system on the ships you could start the game with for instance when you start the game you can only have the weaker ships and when you gain experience points you can get the better ships.

10. As well as this I think you could be able to customise your command ship and have what fighters you wish to have inside.

11. Is it possible to have the support ships depart from the command ship at a logical point instead of the random position that it does. So it ever comes out of a docking bay where you have a command to open the docking bay door and your ship leaves threw a door or you come out just outside.

Hope I have given you some ideas on development, and really hope I havenÔÇÖt rubbed some nerves.

anti grav will do away with the need for landing gear(this is the future after all)

Your crew member's AI increases from being "On Duty" and when their AI increases they become better at their tasks so you can just pretend that they are drilling or something while they are on duty

but the game does that automatically from the start

It would be nice to be able to swap FC but you can customize your ships missles and add upgrades/artifacts(depending on the ship)

This would be pretty intersting to see, but... this is BCM/BCMG not Homeworld

Don't hold your breath, Damean. I don't see how your suggestions would add much value to the game.

Here's a "suggestion" of my own that I just now thought of - how about the ability to walk about the BC in first person? We could use our AE to hunt down intruders (or take out some aggression on Resnig).
