How is one's member status determined? I am an ensign now, which is how I started though was a cadet for a short time.

I know it's not post count related as some people with many posts are outranked by people with just a few.

It also seems that people who are member rated highly are sometimes outranked by people who aren't member rated at all.

What gives?

(PS: I'm not trying to up my rank - ensign is fine - I'm just curious how it works. I searched but couldn't find any related posts or documentation.)

Tacops and Supreme Commanders are Mods and Admins, I'd guess that everything below this is based on post count.

Yep, everything else is based on post count.. see

0 Cadet

51 Ensign

1000 Lieutenant

2500 Major

5000 LT. Commander

7500 Commander

However some ranks are given out to certain members for certain reasons

For example Eclipse is a Tacops Cmdr, however the rank isn't listed in the post count area

I believe the ENSIGN rank is given after 100 posts....

No, after 50 posts. Kalshion listed the right numbers.
