Supreme Cmdr Posted September 9, 2000 Report Posted September 9, 2000 Am gonna go see it again. 'nuff said. Its penned by the same guy that did Usual Suspects. Even Benicio (one of the most under-rated actors) who was in Usual Suspects, is in it. Great acting, believable story and Ryan Phillipe is very good in it. James Caan, cool as ice and damn good.As for the gunfights, think about that bank shootout in HEAT.
Pyro Penance Posted September 9, 2000 Report Posted September 9, 2000 Haven't seen it yet, but it certainly looks entertaining and seems to have a cool style to it, like Swingers. Maybe I'll go check it out tonight if I can find a ride. Nurse Betty is supposed to be really good too, but it's not really my type of movie. EDIT: Well, I just got back and it was really good. Alot different from what I expected, I thought it was going to be a comedy, boy was I wrong. One thing I noticed was the lack of dialogue in alot of scenes and how it depended on pure direction and cinematography to tell the story. This movie really takes advantage of being a movie. The gun scenes were wicked intense and were far more entertaining than any of the gun fights M:I 2. I give 3 1/2 out of 4, some of the plot elements were a little confusing at times.[This message has been edited by Pyro Penance (edited 09-09-2000).]
Guest Posted September 11, 2000 Report Posted September 11, 2000 Good movie. I was expecting a Tarintino rip-off (based on the trailer) but when I read Pyro mentioning the *lack* of dialogue in some scenes I was sold. To me it had the feel (and music) of a modern day spaghetti western.During the previews I was pleased to see they've ported over one of the Drunken Master Jackie Chan flicks (looked like Part II) to an American version.
