Senate passes bill making it a crime to harm a fetus

It appears that the first embers of Orwellian government have been lit.

Does this bill say anything at all about EXACTLY when a fetus has become a viable human being? I seriously doubt it.

It will be most interesting to watch and see who is going to fan this into a fire, ignoring the constitution and essentially stripping the rest of us of our freedoms. Not just those who commit federal crimes.

It appears that the lawmakers may have a vested interest in filling the prisons and keeping them that way.

My beliefs prohibit me from being "of the World"

We all have a predestined path through life. A path of our own choosing to accomplish a higher goal. The power mongers wish to take that away from each and every soul on the planet.

I ain't buyin it.

Whew, now these criminals can serve two life sentences That'll make a big difference. Does it make anyone feel better that a criminal will be sentenced or put to death for two deaths versus one? Doesn't change anything as far as I'm concerned.

As the article said, this is just setting the stage for an overturn of abortion rights.

It ought not be a "right" to have an abortion anyways. There are plenty of other ways to go about handling things besides jumping to abortion.

A pregnancy should only be terminated if:

A. The life of the mother is in danger.

B. The unborn child likely will be stillborn.

I personally am not a big fan of abortion, however it is a right and it should remain so within specific guidlines. I can deal with before 10 weeks. I know of one person who had a late one and that was due to her inability to face the truth of what had happened and it sickened me.

A fetus cannot be expected to live if born before 24 weeks (info from 2001, things may have changed).

An act of violence however, is an act of violence and the perp should be cahrged with everything under the sun. More than that I think they should do away with the appeal process and kill these sickos so we can use the tax dollars for better things.
