Liberal Takeover? Radio Network Plans to Succeed in Pushing Liberal Agenda. Excuse me but isn't there already a medium for pushing the liberal agenda called the NEWS?

It will last one season max, once the ratings for these socalled "radioshows" comes out, they will be cancelled.

No one wants to hear Whining liberals squeal about how unfair life is, and how government should take care of all of it.

Why do you think that there has never been a liberal talk show? Because it has been tried hundreds of times, and each and every time, the show has bombed, NO ONE wants to listen to it.

I've yet to find a liberal who can sway anyone unless they are preaching to the choir so to speak. There was an extremely liberal talk show host in Mobile - pro-Castro, ultra socialist you name it. He had the same 3 callers every day until eventually they put in a conservative (moderate) co-host. Then they got about 10 callers. It's pretty bad when you know each of your callers by name...

Oh, and Al Franken, this'll be the one to watch closely. He has dared Oreilly to sue him because he is gonna call his show, the Franken factor.

There is NOTHING original here. Liberals haven't had an original thought since the New Deal.

It's the same old crap spewed out another mouth. Or it's making fun of conservatives. Woohoo, now how ong will that last?

Liberals also treat the listeners as if they are morons and cannot think for themselves, which when it comes to their liberal listeners, might be true, but when you treat a moderate or conservative like that, the dial gets changed to something a bit more intelligent.

These shows have the life expectancy of a yugo in an accident with a Kenworth. They are gonna get squashed, and the idiot that backs it is going to lose his shorts...

I have read both of Michael Savage's latest books since he started the Savage Nation... I first heard his show back around Election 2000 and fell in love. Great stuff - especially his latest book (The Enemy Within)

Liberals needed to hire comedic personalities... don't expect them to touch on political issues, at least not after they make an assinine joke about something Bush does and a caller points out the factual errors they are ignoring. After that it'll just be a "Bush is stupid" mantra until the advertisers drop like flies and they go off the air.

Liberal news anchors and editors thrive because the print and wipe their hands of their propaganda... they don't have to deal with the telephone and opposing opinions... but even that is starting to wane.

No Race you misunderstand - these guys can get on the radio all they want. Talk radio is funded by advertisers... if they can't get high ratings they bomb... look at this as an I told you so whenever "lib radio" makes it's dramatic fall.

Remember Donahue on T.V.? Went down pretty quick when he actually had to interview people - his ratings dropped like a rock.

Come on Race, there is plenty of room.

But to try and take Liberal talk radio commercial is hilarious. That's the problem, EVERYONE will be changing the station. It will flop, because the ratings will be in the toilet.

Liberal talk radio has been tried, the only ones that achieved anything, got out of political talk and moved into Shock jock fame.

Liberal talk radio has NEVER been commercially viable, it doesn't sell adds, it has to be payed for by the government, think NPR, or it goes bye bye.

That's all I was saying.

This liberal talk radio network will fail, it is just a matter of time. I just love to watch liberals flush their money down a rathole, at least it's their money and not mine this time.

Air America is propaganda, not commercial radio. There are practically no commercials, just PSAs. It is being funded by Soros and Co. Plus, it is on in only 5 stations around the country. Out here in the SF Bay Area, they took over the only Chinese-language radio station in the East Bay (Berkeley) for their station.

Its purpose is only to survive until November 2. After that, it becomes pointless. If Kerry (or whomever is nominated at the convention) is elected, then the network becomes superfluous. If Bush is reelected, then the network failed and the people have spoken -- it would just be pissing in the wind.

Personally, I don't think that Franken has the stomach for a fresh 3 hours of radio 5 days a week. He was drafted for his anger, passion, and name recognition, not his talent. His talent was for sketch parody, and I do find him funny in that format sometimes. But for original 15 hours/week, I don't think he will be able to sustain it.

And, he needs to start taking some more callers. If he is unwilling to engage the random masses, then that speaks volumes in itself.

Here's a little more information for you.

Jim Watkins is the program director for my affiliates in Naples and Ft. Meyers, Florida (WINK-AM and WNOG-AM). Several weeks ago he contacted the people at Air America to inquire about putting Al Franken somewhere on his radio station. Watkins remembered Al Franken from his Saturday Night Live days and felt that he might be entertaining and could draw an audience.

So ... Watkins gets an official from Air America on the phone. The Air America official asks Jim what other programs they carry. Jim starts rattling off the names. Boortz, Limbaugh, Savage .... At that point the Air America official says "Stop." He then informs Watkins that they won't allow their programming to air on WINK and WNOG. And why not? Because "We don't want our programming stained by being on a station that carries Rush Limbaugh."

Is that not amazing? Liberals are complaining that their voices aren't being heard on talk radio. They get a big donation from some liberal in Chicago .. and they set out to create a liberal talk radio network. At last, the liberal voice will be heard! Then they get a call from a radio station that wants to give these great liberal voices an audience in Southwest Florida .. and they say no! Why not? Because they don't want the same people to hear Rush Limbaugh listening to Al Franken. I wonder why that would be? Could it be because they know that their liberal message will not survive exposure to Limbaugh? Could it be that they know the liberal message only gets a foothold when there is nobody around exposing the lies, the half-truths and the complete lack of common sense and logic?

Air America ... destined to fail. Bad idea, bad management. Al Franken won't last till the election.

Apparently the dispute was over AAR withholding payments for airtime purchased in February which they did not use and the company that owns those stations re-sold the airtime to other interests.

A judge has ordered the stations to carry the program again.

Of course not....their solution was to go whining to the court...and they started making fun of the guy. Liu called Air America insolvent...they responded with personal attacks (sound familiar?) Now .. get this: Air America actually had posted a press release on their website suggesting the network was going to resolve the matter, vigilante-style, by putting a crowbar to Liu's head. Does it sound like the St. Petersburg, Florida Democratic Club is writing press releases for Air America? That's the crowd, you will remember, they ran an ad in a local newspaper saying that Don Rumsfeld should be put up against the wall and someone should "pull the trigger." Crowbars to the head, pull the trigger .. nice talk. But to listen to them it's the evil conservatives who say all the truly ugly things.

DOESN'T THIS ALL SOUND JUST A BIT FAMILIAR?

Hold on just a minute. Back to Air America. Doesn't this sound a bit familiar somehow? Walk through the sequence. Here we have a left wing effort that apparently fails in the private market place. Do you fall back, regroup, tweak your product, improve your business practices and give it another shot? Why no! You're a liberal You do what liberals have been doing for decades when their initiatives fail in the marketplace. You go to court! Of course! You go to court to see if you can get a judge to do for you what you weren't able to do for yourself in the free marketplace. Liberals have a long and very rich history of resorting to implementing their agenda through court action. It looks like they're sticking to the same playbook here.
