LostInSpace Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The U.S. military said Tuesday it has seized a letter from Iraqi insurgents believed to be intended for terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi complaining about low morale among his followers and weakening support for the insurgency. See persistence pays off. Keep the pressure on the insurgents and they will eventually crack.
LostInSpace Posted May 3, 2005 Author Report Posted May 3, 2005 Okay these guys at CNN are just plain grimy. This is not the same article I linked to at 11:18 a.m. Look at the new time: Tuesday, May 3, 2005 Posted: 12:41 PM EDT (1641 GMT) It has been heavily edited. The earlier version was more upbeat towards U.S. progress and there was none of those ending news items. This article now ends with: quote: Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said the letter reflects "a certain amount of proof that [al-Zarqawi's] influence and effectiveness is deteriorating." It ended by stating that between the new elections and government and economy looking bright etc... the insurgents are having a tougher time with their mission.
