Gasp! All that's left to do is give birth to AI and Shazzam, Science Fiction once again becomes science fact. Welcome to the Matrix.

[Case]

In my opinion, a LOT of things that William Gibson has written about (he wrote about docking into the 'net way before The Matrix was every dreamed of) will come true.

Things like:

- Elimination of a middle-class, leaving only 'haves' and 'have-nots'

- Proliferation of private security companies to protect the 'haves' as the police can't do a good enough job.

- Mega-corporations having more and more reach and control, rivally and sometimes surpassing governments in power.

- Artificial pop-idols (as in computer generated), we are pretty close to it now if you think about how manufactured current pop stars are, the last step is to remove the 'human factor'.

- Lastly, criminilization of tobacco, and legalization of marijuana.

There are lots more, but that's all I can think of while sitting at work.
