Things to know before you buy a DS

[*]The DS can not play multi player GBA games... there's no port to plug in a GBA link cable.

[*]When you buy a DS, try it out before you leave the store. In particular, look for any dead pixels on the two screens. If you see one, exchange it for a different DS.

and relating to the second point. I have been hearing that DS's that have a serial number starting with "NU1..." use LCD screens that are inferior to units that have a serial number starting with "NU4..."

That is a negative jamotto, Original GBC or GameBoy games do not work with this device.

On the otherhand however, I do have one. It's one of the best devices I have ever had my hands on. The touch screen is awesome, and I abosolutely love the re-creation of the N64 Mario they set as a launch title. Currently have 37 stars and counting!

Thanks! mmm, wonder why? the GBC games worked with the Advance and the Advance and DS are fully compatible with each other. I figured then the DS would work with Game Boy Color games.

The only reason why they didn't do that is because it would need a third CPU (right?) The DS has two processors one for GBA emulation and one for the DS standard games.

Um, I havn't really counted or timed it, however I charged it for about an hour and it lasted me all night till I went to bed (From about 1300hrs to 21:00hrs. I didn't know how the battery icon worked then, so I couldn't guage it any better than that.

During that time, it was a bunch of on and off play. But in generall, the batter life is absolutely beutiful. The PSP is supposed to have what? 2 hours or so?

Does anyone know if screen protectors have been released for the TouchScreen and the upper screen? I'm in dire need of them...
