Supreme Cmdr Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 This could be bloody if it gets out of hand
LostInSpace Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 It's just a large bold font + sign with the color red.
Matchoo Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I think whether the Red Cross likes it or not, their emblem has become the universal sign for medical help and that's not gonna change. Wasting time and resources trying to get it changed is a big mistake, and if they keep trying they're gonna be the receiver of another universal sign:
Captain McMahon Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I think the Red Cross has a point as well as Matchroo (sp?) By law it should be protected, but the Red Cross has become an undiscrible part of every culture. I wonder if ambulances are allowed to use it? Anyway, I would like to here Derek's thoughts on this since he has dealt with IP issues before and intellectual rights.
Soback Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 The sign is NOT red crosses property. That sign has been used as a medical sign long before red cross was established. All the defendants lawyers have to do is dig up evidence of prior use.
Matchoo Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 I was playing operation flashpoint two days ago and I noticed that the medic sitting next to me had a white armband with a red circle and a white cross on it instead of a red cross. I wonder if that was done for this very reason.
Supreme Cmdr Posted February 13, 2006 Author Report Posted February 13, 2006 ...and so it goes It can only go downill from here. Those silly Canadians.
Soback Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Hey, they gotta get the money somehow, right? If not by donations, then by trying to sue. Everyone should tell whoever they can, see Red Crosses donations drop.
