Supreme Cmdr Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Did you actually watch that movie? You did? Then go watch the Space Force 2 one again.
almostpilot Posted September 13, 2006 Author Report Posted September 13, 2006 Oh, yeah. I see the space force 2 movie and very, very beatiful game. Better graphics, trading, and so on.... IT's looks to me more a privatter game, and i enjoy it. But starshatter beside the not so good graphics, have to command a STARFLEET of BATTLESHIPS, not just fighters and have another approach over space sim, it's just more a combat (tactical and "hand to hand"). After all i can't see if space force 2 will have a joystick support (Fligh sim). But's no doubt that SF2 would be better game than starshatter an any aspects including comercial sales. But after all it's just my opnion.
pema84 Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Whoa, combat looks extremely Babylon-5-esque. I love it!
almostpilot Posted October 15, 2006 Author Report Posted October 15, 2006 looks like game is gone gold new site with information and screenshots available... www.starshatter.com
Wolferz Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Did anyone try the demo? I did and found it to be a load of crap. Back to the drawing board Matrix Games. Sorry
Supreme Cmdr Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Matrix games had nothing to do with the development. They're just the online publishers. Milo is the developer. I haven't played Starshatter since he signed on with Matrix, so I have no idea how the game is now. UPDATE: Latest interview about whats new in the game [ 10-16-2006, 11:22 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
Papi Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Hey Wolferz, did you actually check the version of demo? It's the demo of previous SS release, not Gathering Storm. quote:Originally posted by Wolferz: Did anyone try the demo? I did and found it to be a load of crap. Wolferz Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 If that's the case, I retract my opinion until I see an actual demo of the latest project. Where ya been Papi? Haven't seen you in awhile/
Case Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 So, Has anyone tried this one yet? Could we get some opinions? It looks like the only demo available right now is for an older version, and I wanted some thoughts on how this new release is? Cheers!

That demo is for the original release of Starshatter and apparently that version was pure drek. I made the mistake of purchasing The Gathering Storm and I'm sorry to say, it's what so many developers are doing these days. Giving the same old Drek a facelift and throwing it out there to screw the gamers out of thier money. Like I said before, "It's Crap with a capital C." Steer a course clear of this one boys and girl.
Vixef Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 I bought it too. For those who own Starshatter it's a dissapointment. Gathering Storm is mostly a facelift, and some of the bugs from Starshatter is still there. I recomend it for those new to Starshatter though. It's not what I would call free form game, but because of the dynamic campaign it has a lot of replay-value. You start the game as a fighter pilot, and as you become more experienced you can command a carrier commanding a whole fleet of frigates, destroyers, cruisers and of course fighter sorties/missions. The battleships aren't as detailed as in the BC-series but they are doing their job within the concept of the game. The fighter missions range from escort missions to bombing raids both in space and on planets.
Wolferz Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 LOL Here's a quote from some guy named Werewolf, posted in the Tech forum at Matrix.... "You know, if this were a game by Derek Smart, he'd responded something like "Our software does not have bugs, you are using it incorrectly. I'm faithful that the code guru will put an end to this bug in due time. "
Case Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Thanks for the reply Wolferz. I won't bother putting it on my 'to buy' list. Cheers!
