Supreme Cmdr Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 Check the downloads page. Read the .NFO file before attempting to install this script. You HAVE been warned
Soback Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 I can't open the .info file. When I double click on it I get a message --> "Microsoft system information cannot open this file. The file is corrupted." I tried downloading the zip file twice just to make sure it's not a bad download but still got the same results. Ok, I renamed the .inf to .txt, and now I can open and read the file. Probably should have done that in the very begining. [ 03-04-2002, 11:43: Message edited by: Soback ]
Supreme Cmdr Posted March 4, 2002 Author Report Posted March 4, 2002 Is this the first time you are seeing an NFO file? I suppose you don't know that its just a pure text file (can be opened with Notepad) and does not need to be renamed?
Cmdr Nova Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 Windows XP registers a .nfo as a System Information file. Double-clicking opens System Information. Soultions (for those who don't know any better): Open it in Notepad or Wordpad. Or, Rename to .txt I'm checking out that script right now. [ 03-04-2002, 16:00: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
Cmdr Nova Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 quote:ROAM AND EXPLORE SCENARIO FOR WIMPSLOL! I like the stations the way they are right now. I love a challenge.... Unlike some people.
Supreme Cmdr Posted March 4, 2002 Author Report Posted March 4, 2002 *groan* OK, I've renamed the file to .TXT and re-uploaded it. This will prevent any such confusion in the future.
Urza Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 Oh, I was about to download it until I came here and found out what it was.
Gallion Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 I guess they cannot handle my script if they can't handle the new stations MP is gonna be cooool TTFN
Epsilon 5 Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 You didn't say that it "overwrites" the normal roam scenario. I only noticed after a NPC Megaron almost destroyed Orion I thought at first "it" found the "sweet" spot

Where DOES it overwrite the standard ROAM scenario?? If you don't read the docs, you get what you deserve. In spades.

In spades.I noticed it when I loaded a game after copying the files in the scripts directory, keeping the default roam scenario when I chose my profile. I just started the game and "odd, I thought Orion's shields/armor level were higher", then the megaron proved it. Then I went in the explorer and deleted the files in the directory, then everything was back to 1.0.0.6 normal.
Supreme Cmdr Posted March 5, 2002 Author Report Posted March 5, 2002 Thats because the objdefs.dat file in the scripts folder, overwrites the one in the DATASCENARIOS.ZIP folder. Doh! And that file also affects ACM, IA and TA as well. If you plan on using the default ROAM scenario, you have no business using this mod. Period. It was designed for those who found it too difficult in 1.0.06 and is a system wide change. I only built a new ROAM scenario in order to make this obvious to n00bs. You can probably delete all the files in the SCRIPTS folder, and leave only the objdefs.dat file and it will have the same effect. You lose the new ROAM scenario description.
Supreme Cmdr Posted March 7, 2002 Author Report Posted March 7, 2002 I have uploaded a 1.0.07 compliant version of this script
