What's all the discussion about the various Fleets? is it an RPG thing?

Just wondering if there were big plans in place already for BCMillenium multi-play...

The fleets are a RPG thing, but they are also the "Guilds" or "Clans" of the upcoming Multiplayer releases. The fleets offer structure and command opportunities to those who don't feel that one battlecruiser is enough.

There are two factions which currently have active fleets. Galcom has many fleets, with Prime being the Regular Navy, and the others specializing in some area. The Insurgents are all organized under the banner of Spectre Fleet.

If you decide to join a fleet, which you are by no means required to do to play multiplayer, you gain access to the Multiplay Role-Playing servers. Please consider Prime Fleet in your choices. Our recruiting poster may be found at:

Check out the Fleet Discussion forum for more general information on fleets, or the individual fleet forums for more specific information.

Before you decide wether or not to join a fleet or which fleet to join, take a look at the Fleet FAQ found here. http://www.3000ad.com/fleets/fleetsfaq.shtml

You have no idea what you've done, Kain! Don't be surprised if you find the fleets all over you, looking for a new recruit.

Hehe... I was posting under my husband's name for this thread (before I got my own).

He's a computer-lover and got me into games with Privateer. Guess that's what has drawn me to BattleCruiser - where he likes the action of a small craft, I prefer the strategy and management of a large vessel.

Kinda ironic now: he has little time for games, but I find myself in front of the computer screen more and more.

Well, Prime is my choice and I'll have a RP paragraph or two soon.

Thanks again all for making me feel welcome!
