Are these regulated in some way? For roleplaying purposes I wanted to leave rank, ship and even possibly full name as 'unkown'. Is this allowed?

you dont have to have a sig

if you join a fleet, they may require you to use a sig

if you use a sig there are regulations you have to follow

who ever is your commanding officer will make sure you get that right, if and when you join a fleet
