Our good friends over at Firstones.com are trying to get the Bablylon 5 space combat simulation on the rails again, and Rick, the guy co-ordinating the operation, has asked for anyone who has fairly recent info on sales figures for space combat type games. He said "While we could go directly to PC Data for this information, it is quite costly, and for the purposes we are intending to use the data for, we do not require the most up-to-date-every-last-unit accuracy."

So, does anyone have rough sales figures for BC3000AD? If they are not considered to be releasable to the public, then fair enough, but if they can, well thanks in advance. smile.gif

Specifically, we're looking for numbers on the wing Commander Series, Star wars series, and Homeworld.

First of all, they'll never get it off the ground if they're gonna go by the sales units of space sim titles that came after WC3. For one thing, the popular ones, like Freespace2 and Homeworld (is it really a space flight sim in the sense of the genre?) were both multi-million dollar duds.

X-Wing Alliance didn't do that well either.

Its going to take some hellacious numbers to even make the money Sierra already buried into it. And with BCM, GCO and Freelancer coming out, all within the next 12 months, I wish 'em luck.

They're gonna need it.
