Traversing the Universe

I read many posts on this forum especially the one about NASA's advancements in space travel. Exactly what is preventing humans from traversing across different star systems? I'm no brain but doesn't this have something to do with Einstein's laws? And what the heck is Murphy's law anyway? You guys seem to use that reference in many posts but don't even explain what it is. I guess warp drive and hyperdrives aren't gonna be a reality anytime soon. Cmdr. Kron

The only thing that is impeading human conquest of space is the social, economic, and policial barriers that keep the human race from uniting as a whole. IMO, once this is done, the human possibilities will be limitless.

I will answer that with one simple symbol:

If it aint profitable or cheap to do, you wont get much interest. With our current tech we could have a SELF-Sustaining colony on mars and the Moon. But since there is no money in it yet, nobody wants to do it.

And remember, the ONLY reason why we went to the moon or got into space in the first place was out of FEAR of the other side (US-USSR Cold War) getting nukes up there first.

Remember the HUBBLE? Great scientific triumph, media circus, etc. Reality: a JOKE. There are telescopes up there in orbit that are nearly 10 times as powerful as Hubble.. but they point EARTHWARD.

Yess... what we need is another space race!

Edited: I misread ye a bit... Across STAR SYSTEMS. Err.. yeah Einstein is getting in the way hehe.

You can go to the closest star systems if you don't mind spending some years in the trip. Acutally, in theory you can go anywhere in the galaxy in less than 1 or 2 decades (ship time).
