Supreme Cmdr Posted February 24, 2001 Report Posted February 24, 2001 Chuck aka Powercow, sent me this Microsoft Support link and I wanted to share it. This looks like an hack because am not so sure that MS would permit this sort of stuff on their servers.
Gallion Posted February 24, 2001 Report Posted February 24, 2001 Yep, that page is hacked. The query is when did this happen?Recently or is this a left over from the MS site woes earlier. As huge as MS's website(s) are, I would surmize that this is a left over. But it also makes me wonder what other easter-eggs are lurking in the shadows at various MS sites.TTFN------------------ Rear Admiral Gallion ICV-Graf Spee, Spectre (Antis) Executive Officer Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand." Ohso Posted February 24, 2001 Report Posted February 24, 2001 Sorry guys but that page is not hacked. In fact, it's not even on Microsoft's site.Try replacing everything after the @ with the website of your choice. The previous part is ignored since that would be where a username : password should go.Do I get a cookie for spotting this? Oh, and be sure to click on the second link from the bottom that says "2000 Microsoft Corporation. All rights..." etc. The copyright search engine is funny. Gallion Posted February 24, 2001 Report Posted February 24, 2001 LOL - yep ye be right on that one Ohso. cant even reach the link now Did a search on "q209354" at MS resulted in zero results.Moral of this story - first impressions can be deceptive.Good lesson to remember fer the future. Dont think that I will fall for that one again Think I'll leave my previous post alone. Ya, I feel fer it.TTFN------------------ Rear Admiral Gallion ICV-Graf Spee, Spectre (Antis) Executive Officer, Spectre Fleet"You can only love or hate something you truly understand." Ohso Posted February 24, 2001 Report Posted February 24, 2001 Weird, the whole thing is gone. Good thing I made a copy of it before it disappeared (except for the copyright search engine page). Even the comical "poll" on the front page of www.hwnd.net is gone now too. It was also Microsoft related. Hmm, hwnd.net is registered to TUCOWS.COM, INC. and it's DNS servers are located in the UK on FASTHOSTS.CO.UK Oh well. [This message has been edited by Ohso (edited 02-24-2001).]
