All I get from the news-media is coverage of the violence. Being an avid Conspiracy theorist I was interested in your guys' ideas on the subject. Potus (President of the United States) is there since wednesday.There was a march going on in the city. A few party-crashers came in and started the party. The protesters in black, those there exclusively for trouble came and threw stuff at the police. A reporter got gassed and didn't liked it. The Global TV reporter car had it's windows broken under the camera's nose.The tension is very high on the two sides. Some of the big barriers of the security perimeter have been brought down. They will not stay that way for long. Everyone is trying to get a gas mask.Who will run out of smoke grenades first, the 6000 policemens of the expected 10 000 protesters?Most of the people want to peacefully protest, but it seems violence inevitable.One funny thing: 3 people took a small metal barrier and tried to ram into the police. I've been seeing stuff about stereotypes in the news and saying stuff about interrogating all chinese americans. First off, I'd like to say that the news has too much control over people's minds and it's a bad thing. Remember the confusion over the presidential election?Why the hell did those Chinese people come here? They didn't like communism. I think America's alliances have been wearing thin in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. If we screw up once, then we could be at war. After Israel had the infighting recently, we have forgotten about Iraq, Peru, Cuba, China, and possibly American Insurgents.Something to think about before we all die a few years down the road.......

You don't have to be one to know that corporations are bad.NAFTA is about the unrestricted "mutual exchange" of resources between the USA, Canada and Mexico. The USA has the industrial clout, Mexico has the workers, Canada has the natural resources (this is a very basic definition, but adequate). This is done to make the member countries more competitive with the other trading blocs, especially ASEAN and the EU.The effect is that economic power is consolidated in the hands of the major corporations, especially the American corporations. Therefore, the people who receive the real benefits from NAFTA are wealthy Americans, while the wealthy Canadians and Mexicans get the breadcrumbs. If NAFTA was expanded to South America, a lot more people who don't have BMWs and private jets will be screwed, while the big suits in the USA, most of which funded President Bush's election campaign, have the biggest party they've ever had.That's what "free trade" is all about.
