Black and white, from Lionhead Studios is finishing a patch with additional optimization for P4 processors. So, what I think is one rolling rock will start an avalanche. We will see more and more optimizations done for P4, especially on the future OS from microsoft. It's probably a good idea to buy P4 processor, maybe not right now but in time, when the prices drop and they themselves get a little better, but they probably will be better then Athlon eventually.

athlon is old news. Here comes the Palomino...and intel's demise.. MUAHAHAHA..

Yeah, i'm with ya Pyros. The only problem is that AMD = NO SMP Intel now has their Xeon4 for higher end SMP and the cpu's aren't too expensive. With two CPU's at 1.7Ghz there's nothing that AMD can do to touch that.

Yes, I know that AMD has a chipset in the works that will allow SMP of dual T-birds/Athlon4's but they've been incredibly slow to show. So slow, that I doubt it will happen any time soon

So, while AMD is king of the single proc, my money is currently being saved for dual xeon's as much as it sads me to be forced into buying a crap cpu (P4) because nothing's available in dual mode

yeah, you think microsoft will actually support the p4 now that they got their own sticky fingers in the XBox? Hah! I smell they just trying to get companies to code stuff for the p4 so that they can port it easier to the x-box..repeat till assimilation is complete.

AMD.. save us!

BWA HAHAHAAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAHAAH!!!!

Sorry. I just crack a grin and start laughing every time I hear that Lionhead is "finishing a patch" for this game now... wasn't there supposed to be a patch released sometime last week or something? What happened with that? Somehow I almost find myself thinking that the patch is just an evil trick on the part of the developers to keep the fans clinging to the game.

Okay, so I'm not entirely serious there, but cripes, I'd bet a bucketfull of (psychotic) radioactive garden gnomes that this patch won't be out for the next month at least.

Well, not every game developer is like Derek Smart out there.

Why would you want a dual processor unless you are running a server? There is no need. It is a novelty though, and I have dual celerons for that purpose. Servers will continue to be intel dominated (vs AMD) for a while to come.

Hehe, dnoyB! First, I want dual for video post, 3d, and other things I do. However, and probably more important (providing I remember correctly) BC:M will support multiple processors.

Duals are NOT just for servers.

Also, with the cheapest speculated AMD dual mobo being $300, I will most likely be an Intel fan for a while (thanx Abit )
