Põdi Posted July 24, 2001 Report Posted July 24, 2001 Which is why I'm posting this here. My wife phoned me at work today. There was a double murder and suicide in our appartment complex last night! Some strange love triangle apparently: husband came home, found wife and lover together, shot them both then drove off in the car and shot himself. Can't say I would have known them at all, but one of my wife's friends was their neighbour and was the one who called the police. My wife tried to phone her today, but she wasn't in, can't say I blame her at all. This is a very quite neighbourhood too, very middle-class, professional etc. Still can't believe it
Real_Lucas Posted July 24, 2001 Report Posted July 24, 2001 whoa. I don't know what to say...except I'm glad that you and your family are alright (despite the shock).
Kush Posted July 24, 2001 Report Posted July 24, 2001 I'm glad you and your wife are alight.Every now and then, something like this happens in all our lives I think. And it just makes you realize how fortunate we are to be alive for another day.
Soback Posted July 24, 2001 Report Posted July 24, 2001 On a little lighter note, what did we learn from this? DON'T CHEAT.
Guest Posted July 24, 2001 Report Posted July 24, 2001 Sh-t.... the rest of you all in your apartment must be pretty shaken up, especially those who knew the people in question well. At least you & your family are ok.
Põdi Posted July 24, 2001 Author Report Posted July 24, 2001 Update. My mistake, they weren't actually married, but they were living together. According to our friend, it had been an ongoing situation for quite a while. Must have hit boiling point I guess. She heard the shouting, then the shots, went to the balcony and saw a car pulling away at speed. She then went round to the front of their flat with a flashlight and could see the victims through the window. She was the only one who called the police, can you believe that? I saw her this evening, she is really, REALLY shaken up and her doctor had to give her something to calm her nerves. My wife went up to check up on her and there is still blood in the stairwell. She was really angry that no-one else had called the Police, but my missus pointed out that at least she did. One of the victims was still alive when the cops arrived, but died later in hospital. But as my wife pointed out, at least she had people with her when she passed away. It's terrible, just terrible. Everyone's completely at a loss.
