Finding a Ole Friend

I’m trying to find a friend of mine from college but I lost contact with him about 8 years ago. The only thing I have is his parents address & phone number. The phone number is no longer in service and I’m pretty sure they have moved from the address I have.

What I’m wondering is, does anyone know how I can might still track them down armed with an old address and phone number?

An online-phone directory might work. Thats the first thing I did when I was looking for a friend of mine when I lost contact with her for 3 years.

If that fails and you got some extra cash burning in your wallet, try a private investigator.

Nah, if you know the address, and IF you live close enough, go to the county courthouse where they lived. This should give the info on who now owns the property now, and there SHOULD be info on where the original owners, the people you are looking for, moved to, forwarding address etc.

Worth a look anyway, it's all public info, I have the entire history of my house, from 1871, the original owners to me, over 15 families. I found it all in the county courthouse. Like I said, worth a shot if you don't have the money to blow on an investigator, who will most likely do the same thing..

Unfortunately, they stay several states away from me, also he transfered to another after his freshman year.

I was hoping it was some sort of online source I could go to.

You could always open up one of those spam email "Track anyone Instantly"

Try some of the white pages. Do a national search on the name and see what comes up.

Try www.classmates.com. It's a high-school reunion type of site (maybe college too). Find his school (if you know it is) and year and see if he signed up. If not, post a message to his graduating class and see if other school friends know where he is.

Well, you could try and send your friend a letter to the address you last had of him.

If they moved the mail or the current occupants should foward it (not in all cases, but it happens).

If its an old college friend, ask your other old college friends if they have the phone number or address, sometimes the human connection is the best one. Less paperwork too.

In Australia, we can query the electoral roll for a name. But I don't know if it's the same in 'Merica, seeing as voting isn't compulsory for you guys.
