Since I am struggling with my brand new computer being repaired(Our company IS guy uses the word "tweaked") I am once again bangin' ole betsey

(533mhz 32mb ram Celeron processor) and require my mates help with a list of games I might like based on my love of the BC universe and of course your personal expertise. I recently discovered Freespace The Great war and the add on Freespace Silent Threat and have found them to be enjoyable

for a linear mission based closed end game.

Anyone who has sugesstions please feel free to jump in keeping in mind my pedestrian hardware.

I love spaced based sims but may be willing to experiment with other genres

PS Ten bars of gold pressed latinum to the best suggestion

klingon academy comes to mind, as well as starfleet command (based on the old starfleet battles board game) ummm starship troopers was excellent, and like jerrygoalie and myself discussed in another thread, Shogun: Total war is just outstanding you can check out what its about here

With 32megs of Ram, your not getting far. I too had acquired Freespace, plus the addon. I finished Freespace, but can't yet get past my current position in Silent Threat. But then again, ever since the new machine became BCM capable, I haven't really played FS all that much. Even though, it is not in space, you may like playing Jane's Fighters Anthology.

Speaking of, I also need to finish my current campaign in Jane's Fleet Command.

Hey Race,

Egosoft just re-released X-Gold which combines X-Beyond the Frontier and X-tension in the english version. I own and played X-BTF and have just ordered the X-Gold package. Pretty good space game, I enjoyed it allot. You can not visit planets like BCM but you can build your own factories for trading and alliances with different races. You can only order it online at their site and must pay via credit card as they only accept Eurodollars. X-Tension is an add on to the original which allows you to fly different ships and they made the AI much harder. I can't wait until I get my copy as I am quite interested in playing the add on. You can check out their site at egosoft.com but I sure your old machine will be fine.
