Duncan Idaho Posted April 11, 2002 Report Posted April 11, 2002 After seeing the 'Favorite movies' post, I became interested in knowing what games everyone likes most. Here are mine: Starflight (OLD! Heard about Starflight 3 coming out soon? See www.starflight3.com) Wolfenstien Wing Commander (1 especially, but all were good) Xwing Doom Descent (all of them!) Descent Freespace 2 Need for Speed 3 SimCity (3000, but all of them were great for their time) MS Flight Simulator 2002 (Actually earlier versions too) Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith Mechwarrior 2, and 3 (and Pirate's Moon Exp for 3) Homeworld The Sims (though I hate myself for liking it) Starfleet Command (Original) Princess Maker 2 (Unusual game, from Japan, made by Gainax, makers of the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion). I could go on, but my list would never end I'm afraid. Idaho

Can't believe it's a best-seller... it goes in the same category as the sims's do (games that sucks but sell well)
Duncan Idaho Posted April 13, 2002 Author Report Posted April 13, 2002 A friend of mine once described Myst as a 'Bankers game', a non-game for non-gamers. I agreed with him, of course. Idaho

Thank GOD no one said Myst! IdahoWHAT?!!!! How dare you say that! (j/k) I'm partial to leisurely-paced games with challenging puzzles in them. Outstanding graphics don't hurt either. The "point-n-click adventure/puzzle game" is among my favorite genres to play (the others being BCM, action/RPG, and starfighter sim). Anyway, I knew I missed a genre; my list seemed to short. Thanks for the reminder. Revised list: [*]Thief II [*]Redguard [*]Total Annihilation [*]Descent: Freespace [*]Riven (a.k.a. Myst 2) [*]Journeyman Project 3 [*]Zork [ 04-12-2002, 22:18: Message edited by: Joel Schultz ]
