Guest $iLk Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 Can 3D GameStudio's A5 engine do what I need it to do? I'm going to find out if I can make something fun with it. My game is currently in the design phase, but you can see the concept art/teaser here. Thoughts? Questions?
TARWMSRK Posted July 14, 2002 Report Posted July 14, 2002 It would help if we knew what you wanted to do---
Guest Posted July 14, 2002 Report Posted July 14, 2002 Yes, sorry Silk, but a little clue would be helpful. "You, it's what's for dinner" doesn't tell me a lot.
Guest $iLk Posted July 14, 2002 Report Posted July 14, 2002 Sorry, what I'm wanting to know so far is if you saw this as a teaser in a magazine that it would make you want to turn the page and see what it was all about. As far as "TYPE" of game, it's going to be a FPS style RPG. Futuristic weapons, spaceships, etc. Except the characters are going to be animals. The purpose of the concept art was not to let you know too much about the details, as I haven't fleshed out those myself.
Commander Elio Jason Posted July 14, 2002 Report Posted July 14, 2002 what's the story? some animals with smart minds(like Deep Blue Sea) and humans have to beat them??/
Guest $iLk Posted July 14, 2002 Report Posted July 14, 2002 More like, the Animals *are* the humans of this universe. The storyline is best summed up as a futuristic Good Guys (who can do no wrong) versus the Bad Guys (who have stupid plans such as stealing all the worlds sugar so the President of the good guys has to drink his coffee black) Not quite that corny, but more to illustrate the steryotypical relationship between the bad guys and the good guys. Once it get's more fleshed out I'll put in information. Right now I'm drawing out character sketches, and weapons and spaceships. Maybe a better way to describe what the game play would be like, imagine Mega Man from the original Nintendo in a FPS. You fight through the bad guys minions (all robotic soldiers) and at the end of a level face off against a boss character (another half cyborg, half animal like your character.)

Makes me think about Serious Sam.

(im pretty experienced with worldcraft)However im sure you know this but err senseless slaguter of bad guys has been done, many, many times before..
Guest $iLk Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 It's going to be more of a proof of concept for something more in depth. I'm just wanting to test the capabilities of the engine. If anyone is interested (or should I say who has exp?) working on a game (modelling, animating, texturing, etc.) let me know. The game itself is in design phase (Story, plot, character sketches, etc.) If anyone wants to sketch out what their view of an animal humanoid with guns and futuristic combat gear would look like, feel free. If it is something I intend to use, I will discuss payment options with you. If I don't intend to use it I can't offer anything else. If I like your work, we can discuss options. Maybe I should've waited until I got a firmer grip on specifics before mentioning, but was wanting to know if anyone had any ideas/features for this type of game that it would be easier to implement before, rather than after coding begins.
