Guest Remo Williams Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 If I'm still around(highly unlikely)I'll be 53. I'll toss back a few with you. LOL! quote:Anarchy already!! LOL! Good one.
Parias Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Pffft, that rock's no problem.. just deploy a Heavy Cruiser with a few Ion Frigates (backed up by minelayers, just in case), with perhaps a Missile Destroyer for an antifighter screen.. no problemo! *Mutters something about his fleet being too big and wanders off to go play some more Homeworld*
XenoZohar Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Forget that, bring in the Multi-Beam Frigates!
rjy01 Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Hey! Now we don't have to fix the Social Security system!
Cmdr Nova Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 NASA's Opinion on the recent media hype of this? Rubbish. (No, not the SC kind.)
Jigoku San Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 quote: Doom sells, and perhaps no one knows that better than members of the British media. crazy Brits. If a big rock really was gonna hit us the gov't would have covered it up till it was right on our front doorstep.
Guest Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 (After reading the second article) You know even if the chances of this thing hitting us are minute.... Id still kinda like to make sure....
Cmdr Nova Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 Heh. Even the first article (the British one) said it was a .06 threat factor. That's pretty damn small. (Even though all the other recorded asteroids have had negative numbers for threat factors, I still consider it small.) This just goes to show you. You've got your optimistic American science group, and your pessimistic British gang overseas. Of course there are going to be disagreements. The truth (18 posts until I hit 1337 (l33t). w00t!)
