Fendi Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Heh, you can get the same effect if you saved up for this.

Fendi Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Hmm, you've got a point there. But at least in an Evo, you get to Barf as many times as you want and at the end of the day, go home and park it in your garage.
DraconisRex Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Man, they gotta be kidding. When are they gonna do any real space exploration? C'mon, I mean, I don't consider the taxicab (as in the shuttle) to be "going into space." Give me a break -- that's like saying a firecracker has the same firepower as a planetcracker! Jeeze! And enough of this rocket-powered bomb-on-a-stick nonsense -- it's too dangerous for anything beyond the moon, and that lost several lives in its tenure. How about some non-inertial propulsion systems that don't depend on riding on an a-bomb equivilent, and might go faster-than-light? Real scientists have toyed with it, but no effort (except maybe in what Roswell may be doing with our tax money) has been put out to actually achieve it. Between the "big-rock-hits-planet", "nuthead uses dirty nuke in New York", and "stupidity continues in Washington" scenarios, I think it's high-time we did something about it. Hey, Supreme Commander: Why don't we start the real GalCom about a thousand years early?!? (Hint, hint, hint...)
GREG MILLER Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Hmm... I wonder how much a few minutes of weightlessness costs???
Supreme Cmdr Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 What nonsense. They'd better finish that damn station soon, so that one can actually find a reason to go to space. If I wanted to experience weightlessness, I'd jump out of a perfectly good aircraft and simulate it. Damn, speaking of which, I haven't been skydiving in God knows how long. Now that I think about it, I guess a vacation in the Florida keys is in my short term future.

Won't catch me jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.

Lotharr Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Your missing out, itÔÇÖs a trip. All you need is a perfectly good chute to go with the plane....
Guest Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 If the plane is goin down, GREAT, give me a chute, otherwise, FORGET about it!! I may be crazy, but NOT that crazy, I'll get my thrills on the ground. I race cars for an andrenaline rush, at least if something goes wrong, I've got brakes, and a helmet, and I am belted into a roll cage. MUCH safer then falling out of the sky at 150 miles per hour!!

DraconisRex Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 I thought about being an Airborne Ranger when I was in the Army. Then, from out of nowhere, sanity took hold. My First Sergeant said, "I see no sense in jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, unless I can land on a perfectly good enemy officer. Then, the latter will change..." Course, he was Field Artillery. So was I, doing 90+ percent of my time doing paperwork at Battery Supply. Ho hum ho hum. Everyone else did their ten hours a day -- I was lucky to escape at 16. Then, they had the nerve to tell me that I had to clean my room, do my laundry, sort everything out, and get some sleep. And be back in Supply at 06:30 hours. Something is wrong with this picture... I love to fly. I love to watch skyjumpers, but I just don't wanna join them, unless the plane is dead, dying, or being shot at by air artillery...
CommanderJohnson Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Join the Air Force if you want to skydive. Was reading some info on them and their skydiving area is the "safest in the country" and it's the only place you do a solo jump the first time. Of course they ARE training you to jump out of a plane if you get shot down...but still, it'd be fun!
