Can you open this for me? hahaha (attempt at being cute)

You guys are going to think I am soooo lame. Oh well what do I care anyway!!!

No really.

I want to get a cd burner. Problem is I have no idea what to get. I don't even know if it makes a difference. Can anyone help me?

I am looking for like a brand name, simple functions, and if internal or external is better. Money isn't really an issue.

I should also note, I got this computer in 98 (I think) and will be keeping it until it blows up or Cd's become a memory like 8 tracks.

Thanks!

well... you could get anything. you could get a cheap lil yamaha, or a philips (which is what i have), or hewlett packard or you could go with lite-on or acer.

internal is better.

here is an interesting site that helps you choose what type of cd burner is cool for your system.

You can pick up a top notch LiteOn unit (I have three here) for about $60. I would recommend the 40x125S which comes bundled with Nero CD media burning program, right here.

You don't need the 48x125w and you save yourself some bucks by getting the next one down.
