Sorry, I don't see any obvious correlation between Mycoplasma & h. pylori. This is based on what I've found on the web - I have no medical training, so please don't give me too much grief if I'm wrong.

Well, it reduces acid levels in the stomach, so if excess acid is causing a problem, it should help. If the cause is different, it won't. Having said that, I personally have found the effectiveness to be variable. If I have a really bad attack, I sometimes have to resort to a dose of sodium bicarb. (liver salts, or whatever), followed by 150mg of Zantac/Ranitidine, followed by a dose of Gaviscon (which, from the ingredient list, looks to me like a buffer solution).
