Kalshion Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 im making a squad site for another game, well I use Homestead... thats a peice of c**p and so im looking for another drag and drop website creation program.. problem is I think only homestead is the one.. Can anyone here help me? I completly suck at HTML usage
OvermindDL1 Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Personally I like frontpage but some people hate it because its Microsoft, and albiet it is complicated but it is the most poweful, for something simple try Microsoft Word, just choose Start->(Programs, depending on OS)->New Office Document, and choose HTML or website or whatever it is somewhere on those tabs, or just start it as normal and just click File then save as html, adds some wierd formatting in the html and a new folder for storing the pics you used, but it works just fine, and as always for any tips, tricks, and help with web design goto www.builder.com then goto web design or whatever the tab is called at the top of the page.

Front page is easy enough - if you can use Word you can use Frontpage but my advice learn a bit of HTML(the basics are easy enough) and rip out the Bloat that frontpage adds to the HTML code.

IMO it is MUCH more powerful than the latest Frontpage and its got some advantages that most enjoy. These include seemless integration with flash and coldfusion (and fireworks if you like it) and clean code from the start, so you don't have to go deleting the "bloat" that Frontpage makes. I prefer Dreamweaver myself, but the choice is up to you. http://www.macromedia.com
Fractux Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Well, I use EVRSOFT's 1st Page 2000, as its a great free HTML editor. I suggest you check it out. I gues even if you don't code in HTML, everything is easy to do if you go into begiiner mode. You can ask for a table and it'll ask you how many colums and rows you want and for any other variables you want to set, if you don't code the HTML directly. Cheers!

Guest Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 I use homesite and dreamweaver together, believe it or not. They are both excellent programs, I use homesite for the basic stuff, then save it and add the dancy stuff with Dreamweaver. I Get some great pages out of them. Good Luck!!

weegee_101 Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Wow Jag! We agree on something for once. While homesite is nice, its not really worth the money to buy the full version. If you want a good code only HTML editor I'd suggest going with UltraEdit. Besides being a POWERFUL programming tool/text editor, it allows you to make libraries of code languages and such, and you're certain to find some online for most internet languages. Plus, its quite a bit cheaper than homesite. I do have a question for you Jag. Any new features that are worth the money for Homesite 5?
