Any fan of the racing genre knows that Motor City Online is about to get shafted come the 29th. Great game. Although, I can honestly say I haven't played it in months due to the move from Korea, the re-registration and bill handling, etc. (I'm just too friggin' lazy!) Those familiar with the old-school DOS based racing game Street Rod (or Hot Rod, whichever you prefer) know that this was the game that pretty much started it all. Yep, nothing like building every possible aspect of your car from deciding whether or not to put a 2-3 manifold on the block all the way down to screwing in the one bolt that connects to the engine mount and, amazingly, keeps the engine in place. And let's not forget that amazing "Auto-tuning" machine that fractions the cost of labor. When MCO came along it brought back all of those great memories. Now we'll be force-fed crap from the east like Super Midnight Dance Racer Party! -or whatever the heck they're being called these days- until someone tries to ressurect the classic feel of racing your initial '53 Crapper for mula until you can afford that '69 Camaro. I never understood how driving 130mph into a wall didn't result in the sudden demolation of my vehicle. Not even a friggin' scratch. But if racing games like that are selling, I guess I'm wrong. The least EA could have done was release a final patch that allows you to play the game locally. If deadbeat hackers could do it with EQ, then the legit companies sure as $#!+ can, too. Just seems like a waste of money after all this time. I'm done griping, have a day.
