Hey they've improved a hell of a lot. Take Elite force and Star Trek bridge command. Now we have Elite force II I played the demo and it's way better than the first Elite Force. Klingon academy is another good game but that was made by 14 deg. East and published by Interplay and I still play it when I just want to quickly go beat up on some star ships. Viacom should be sued by Activision and all the fans for the simple fact that they are single handidly killing a very long standing franchise. I hope Activision kicks their A$$. And it just figures as soon as trek games start to kick A$$ in game play the rug is pulled out from under our feet. Bloody murphy's law!

History is repeating itself. Reminds me of the struggle Roddenbery had with the TV executives with the first series. They wanted a kiddy space western they thought that his version would be too cerebral for the average TV viewer and Roddenberry wanted it the way he had it. They compromised. The original pilot that stared Jeffery Hunter as captain christopher pike was then stitched in to a William Shatner episode so it wouldn't go to waste. The only reason the series lasted 3 seasons was that on the last season the network kept changing it's air time. That's a death nell to any series.

What?/Why? is Activision complaining about this,

Generally speaking I haven't seen a game come out of activision that was worth playing, Example:

Look what they did to the Mechwarrior series. Made a cheap ripoff, cashed in on it and ran for the San Bernardino hills.

Well this is news to me. I could care less that Activision is sueing Viacom. Viacom is not making another Star Trek movie, thats news to me. I suppose I could understand why, but still, if they were to get some DECENT writers they might be able to increase the life of the Star Trek franchise.

And whats this with Activision saying that there needs to be support from Viacom to make Star Trek games? Ever heard of fans? I suppose not, or if they have, Activision's Cheif Executive's IQ of 40 just doesn't allow him to understand what a fan(atic) is....

(If you didn't know, the Sci-Fi channel is making a mini-series due out in December, and there's supposed to be a new series after that.)

Of what? BG or ST? I really do need to get cable back.

It's like the writers went brain dead on it.

It wasn't the writers' fault. It was an executive decision. The program was popular but, because of the emphasis on special FX, it was also expensive to produce (computer-generated FX weren't practical until STNG). So the Suits figured they could keep the audience and save big bucks at the same time.

Yeah you are right I should have included the suits as well since they are the ones that okay every inch of the production.
