Not unusual in that neck of the woods. LOL

I guess they'll have to change some spelling in the Horse Thief law. In Texas you can shoot and kill a horse thief without worrying about legal repercussions. In this day and age the automobile has replaced the horse but stealing a car is considered the same as stealing a horse.

I once read a story about a repo man being shot and killed when he attempted to recover a pickup that the owner had stopped making payments on. The man was not charged with murder because of the old horse thief law.

Now, replace the R with a U and those crazy drug addicts might think twice about ripping your aluminum siding off while you vacation.

Yeah, why not, nothing wrong with shooting a thief stealing your car, nothing wrong with shooting a thief period, be it in your house, or your property.

Wonder where the owners of the house were for those 3 months? Maybe it was abandoned, and the land sold (to those retailers). So they figured that the construction will tear the house down anyway, so might as well take what they can, but I guess that part is not told because then the story wouldn't be as exciting.

The funny part is, they recovered the property (parts of the house). Wonder if the guy they sold it to started building his place with it.

Damn funny article. An entire house!! I'd say all is not lost however. Who ever owns that could make a killing on EBAY:

OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY. BID ON THESE ITEMS AND YOU TOO CAN OWN A PIECE OF THE HOUSE THAT WAS ACTUALLY STOLEN PIECE BY PIECE. ITEMS ARE LIMITED SO DON'T DELAY AND PLACE YOUR BID NOW. FIRST ITEM UP FOR BID IS ONE ROOF TILE. STARTING BID $200.

BTW: You know that women that auctioned off her mary image grilled cheese she is now auctioning off the pan that it was cooked in. Oh no.....
